IC Network Shared Learning Workshop: Foresight and Futures Thinking with Steven Lichty

Inclusive Communities is excited to invite LeadDIVERSITY alumni, IncluCity alumni, IC volunteers, and board members to our fourth quarterly IC Alumni & Volunteer Network Learning Session. This shared learning experience is designed to foster connection, collaboration, and community across our leadership programs and Omaha Table Talk volunteer network.

This session will feature guest speaker Dr. Steven Lichty, founder of Frontline Futures, who will guide participants through an engaging introduction to Strategic Foresight and Futures Thinking tools. Together, participants will explore practical approaches for navigating uncertainty, anticipating emerging challenges, and building more resilient and inclusive communities.

During this interactive three-hour workshop, participants will:

  • Gain introductory insight into foresight and futures thinking
  • Develop a shared language and toolkit for navigating uncertainty
  • Explore trends and signals shaping communities and organizations
  • Discuss plausible future scenarios related to community resilience
  • Learn reusable planning tools for future leadership and organizational work

Registration is capped at 30 people and it is first come first serve.

Following this event will be an OPTIONAL Social Hour with Steven Lichty to continue the conversations started in the session. Please join us immediately following the session from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm at Inner Rail Food Hall if you would like to keep the conversation going! This will be a no-host Social Hour, so all food and drinks will be at your own expense.

The deadline to register is May 20, 2026. However, registration will remain open until all spots are filled.


About the Facilitator
Dr. Steven Lichty has more than 25 years of experience working across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas in strategic foresight, organizational development, systems mapping, and futures thinking. A Nebraska native originally from Carleton, Nebraska, Steven combines global experience with a deep understanding of community-centered leadership and change.
Space is limited to 30 participants and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. An optional social hour will follow the workshop at 4:30 p.m.
