Jared Hiscock (he/him/his) is a 2019-2022 Holland Community Opera Fellow with Opera Omaha. As a Holland Fellow he has worked to co-create inclusive programming to support Opera Omaha’s community partners and to serve a diverse population. Jared has led programming with such Omaha area organizations as Quality Living Inc., Sienna Francis House, and Nelson Mandela Elementary, as well as piloted programming at the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility.
Prior to his engagement with Opera Omaha, Jared spent two seasons doing educational outreach with the professional opera touring company Opera for the Young, performing Power House in the world premiere of Super Storm! by Scott Gendel and the Sea-King in Rusalka.
Jared holds a DMA and MM from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music, where he studied with Dr. William Shomos, and a BA from Walla Walla University. While at UNL he was awarded a graduate teaching assistantship. He has studied Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais at the Barstow Institute and worked closely with soprano Elizabeth Kirkpatrick Vrenios at the Redwoods Opera Workshop.
Mr. Hiscock is married to the supremely talented and beautiful Damie Elder-Hiscock. Mr. & Mrs. Hiscock are parents to four children, Ryann (2009-2011), Clifton (2012), Walden (2014), & Desmond (2019).
