QUEER TABLE TALK – Know Your Neighbors LGBTQIA2S+ in Nebraska

February 26 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

LGBTQIA2S+ people are regularly misunderstood. They hold one of the most contentious identities talked about. An estimated 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBTQIA2S+. The Suicide Prevention Resource Center estimated that between 5 and 10% of LGBT youth, depending on age and sex groups, have attempted suicide, a rate 1.5-3 times higher than heterosexual youth. What factors contribute to statistics like these? Is there a responsibility for the community to assist in the lives of LGBTQIA2S+ people?

Join us on Wednesday, February 26th as we talk about this and more.
